Dive with sharks!

It's gotta be the number 1 reason to visit Manly Ocean world. Its aquarium displays are not as great as the one at Sydney Aquarium, but it is one place in Sydney (besides getting out of the harbour) you can have a close shark encounter.

Sydney is the best city in the world!

As a local, I don't see why Sydney is any better than those culturally enriched cities in Europe, South East Asia and South America. However 10,000 readers of Conde Nast Traveler readers can't be wrong. They have voted Sydney to be the top travel destination in the world two years in a row.

It is "the cleanest (94.78) and most user-friendly (93.68) city abroad" according to their readers poll

It's the school holidays!!!!

Well, that time has come. The traffic will be lighter in the mornings, we will no longer be required to slow down to 40kmph and the teachers will finally get a break.

However it is now the parents suffer. There are now bored children expecting to be entertained, and many are out of ideas to keep them happy

News: camping on Cockatoo Island

A flip through the newspaper I saw an advertisement about Cockatoo Island - "Cockatoo Island Camping is now open!" it said, accompanied by a photo that looks more than an industrial island rather than a leisure island where camping would be a pleasure.

However, it's apparently Sydney's only central camping ground and is just eight minutes ferry from Circular Quay

Dinosaurs in Sydney at the Australian Museum

"Dinosaurs have just arrived!" - large bold text spread across the bottom of today's paper caught my attention.

I have a fascination about dinosaurs, because they are such surreal creatures that without proof of their existence, it's hard to imagine they used to walk the earth, exactly where we all stand right now, and the fact that such powerful, large creatures, can vanish off the face of the earth, with not ONE surviving the turns and changes of this moving planet, is puzzling

2008 Audi Festival of German Films

For the love of Germany and its language and culture, I look forward to this each year, the German Film Festival.

Starting 16 April and runs to 27 April, the Audi Festival of German Films will be featuring "political and psychological thrillers, historic and contemporary subjects, heroes and anti-heroes, laughter and a few tears", according to the Goethe Institute

Koala Park West Penannt Hills

It's not exactly a zoo, nor it is a sanctuary. It's just Koala Park and is often on the list of many bus / tourist groups.

It's not often talked about, mostly due to its location. It's right in the middle of Sydney north west suburbia of Pennant Hills/West Penannt Hills/Cherrybrook, it's not exactly a tourist friendly location. However, it has a long history and personally I am surprised it has survived that long. (Its history dates back to 1930
