The Museum of Sydney
February 3rd 2008 21:01
It's odd for someone to visit a museum about the city they live in. I did. And I thought it was great as there are many things I didn't know, or didn't know the details of about Sydney and now, I am quite glad I had taken the time to learn them. (As long as I can still remember next week it'd be even better!)
The Museum of Sydney is a relatively new museum in Sydney right near the Circular Quay on the corner of Phillip and Bridge Sts. Admission price was $10 for an adult but I think the exhibitions were well worth it.
The building which hosts the museum is a piece of history in itself, being the first government house built in NSW in 1788 by Governor Arthur Phillip.
And right now, there are some interesting exhibition that I thought would interest you all:
Sydney Now - New Australian photojournalism, an exhibition with photographs that reflect Sydneysider's lifestyles, concerns, dreams, motivations and aspirations. A realm of reality to the lives of many that live here, party here and grow old here.
More photos from Sydney Morning Herald Sydney Now Gallery
As part of the Sydney Now exhibitions they are holding talks by the photographers Martin Mischkulnig and Tim Hixson on their works, and their inspirations.

Talking to the staff often adds to the value of such places, it puts an extra touch on inanimate objects.
