Sydney Festival First Night (LINK)
January 2nd 2008 00:18
The fireworks were a blast and the hour glass turned and turned until we finally accept it's another year and things have to move on.
However, January is an exciting month for Sydney - it's Sydney Festival Time!
I look forward to the Sydney Festival each year, and each time I am the loyal attendee of the many free events held at various venues in Sydney.
First of these of course, is the Sydney Festival First Night. Starting at 3pm on Saturday 5th January, the big city party will go on until 11pm with events for kids in the afternoon, and then bands playing at different stages around the city, including performances by the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, DJ Brame and Paul Kelly. From 6pm to 11pm, selected Sydney restaurants will also showcase their wonderful cuisines in a food fair in Hyde Park.
So you thought the party ended when the fireworks finally blew out on New Year's Day? Not in Sydney it doesn't! Sydney continues to party like there is no tomorrow and make sure you are at the First Night to shake your bum bum!
For details and further information on the Sydney Festival First Night, visit: Festival First Night - A Sydney Festival 2008 event
Or visit Sydney Festival Official Website for future events throughout January.
I'll be updating on major free events throughout January. Stay tuned!
