Craving for seafood?
January 24th 2008 05:03
For the freshest seafood in Sydney, hop on the Light Rail and get yourself to Sydney Fish Market, at the foot of the beautiful Anzac Bridge.
Why I like it there?
Well, firstly, it's fresh. And it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Yes, seafood is generally expensive, however instead of paying $60 at the restaurant for a seafood platter, you can grab a bunch of prawns for as cheap as $12 per kilo, a dozen oysters for $14.50 and other assortments for less than what you would pay in a restaurant. You can also 'eat in' at the markets at one of the food outlets for hot seafood.
Unfortunately though, they really should clean up the place a lot more. What is suppose to be a nice harbour side is dirty, wet and often fishy. And it would be nice to re-develop the building to accommodate more people for better enjoyment.
However, don't let that discourage you. If you like seafood, this is the place to go.

Apologies for the quality of this photo. I had to resort to using the camera on my phone that day. (Nokia 6120classic 2.0 megapixels)
