Some top high tea places in Sydney

I don't know when this craze started, since the uprise of the 'high tea' came about I've been to a couple of them - from the hen's high tea, to the afternoon university alumni events, to taking my parents out for a special day - high tea seems to be the thing to do these days!
So, here are a list to some of the top high tea places in Sydney:
1. The Tea Room - QVB
Perhaps one of the first places to offer high tea. The Tea Room has always been a classy venue for receptions or high end dining. Located on level 3 of the Queen Victoria Building, it is meant to be a prestige venue, not just for high tea, but for events such as weddings or say the university alumni association conferences that I was invited to.
I would have to agree, the food and the service of the tea room is of high standard. It is unfortunate the room has no 'view'. The windows are high on the walls now allowing the fact that you are on top of the QVB to really enjoy the views of the city. Although being in the middle of Town Hall there wouldn't have been much room anyway I suppose.
2. The Victoria Room - Darlinghurst
I was here for my cousin's hen's party. Instead of a night out drinking til we drop, she decided she wanted to do it in upper class style and booked out one corner of the room.
The high tea was served - there was a large selection of exotic tea from China rose to Turkish apple, and the food were also pretty good. The decor is of the Victorian atmosphere with red velvet chairs and gold handles, but I felt that the place was a little bit too cramped and a little less organised than the Tea Room. Still, a great place for high tea.
3. The Observatory Hotel - Sydney
I sent my parents to this one. They were delighted. It's not as fancy as the above two on the list, but the setting and the atmosphere is no less elegant and the price is a little cheaper as well.
4. Art Gallery of NSW - The Domain
An odd place to go for high tea, I know, but there is nothing more pleasant than having spent a day strolling through rows and rows of great art work followed by a relaxing time having high tea in the gallery restaurant.
I think I have preferred this better than any of the above simply because it's less 'upper class' and I wasn't forced to behave (if you know what I mean, having to dress well and stuff) - I felt a lot more relaxed and comfortable in the gallery grounds.
