Reading: Sydney's Best Harbour & Coastal Walks
February 5th 2008 10:29
Sydney Morning Herald published Sydney's Best Harbour and Coastal Walks is a comprehensive guide to many of Sydney's great outdoors, listing the dedicated walking trails around Sydney, mostly along the harbour and some into the city centre and suburbs to view significant historical and cultural sites.
I was given this book by a friend as a house warming gift, and it became extremely handy during weekends when the weather is perfect for a day outdoors (obviously, not lately). Ranging from walks along the inner harbour, to along the coastal outer harbour many of these walks saved us a lot of money from trying to find weekend activities, and still letting us have a great day.
For example, the Double Bay to Rose Bay walk is not one usually on the tourists agendas, and unlike the walk between Bondi and Coogee, it was pleasant and not crowded, allowing us to fully enjoy ourselves in our own pace, and stopping at many little beaches along the way.
The listings are complete with coloured photographs, a coloured map outlining the walk and places of interest along the way. It also provides public transport information for locations accessible by the train, bus and ferry.
A great book to have to find out about all the little places you never heard of in Sydney, and if you are looking for things to do on the weekends that doesn't cost much.

Excellent Amy. I've been doing some research into walks in Sydney. I think my kids are old enough now that we can start doing some of these.
Thanks for the tip.
Love & stuff

No worries. There are certainly more walks similar to the Double to Rose bay walk and if you don't want to buy the book I'd be happy to type them out for you
